    Loading plated X-Treme Bullets in a .30-30

Does anyone here have any experience loading these for use in a Winchester 94 .30-30 rifle?

High-quality, USA-made ammo for sale online, including bulk orders! Get new and remanufactured rounds at great prices. Shop 9mm, 223, 380, .45, 10mm, and more.

If they are suitable for this purpose, I would like to hear comments from someone who has used them.

I use them in mine. I load imr4198 at 21.0 gr IIRC. I've never used a chronograph or anything but they are accurate and reliable. My 1894 is a 1941 model.

I like them in my 336. I've only loaded them with LeverEvolution powder... No issues feeding and are fairly accurate (not as good as the tipped Hornady).

X-Treme says to keep the speed under 1500.
Search for lead cast loads. 13gr Red Dot has worked well

I assume you're using the 150gr .308 bullets. I've not used those, but I have used their 123 gr .312 bullets in my SKS and Mosin, both with gallery loads using Unique and with slightly reduced loads using h4198 and imr4895 respectively. I've pushed them at up to 1900fps and haven't had any issues with plating separation much less leading but I am done experimenting and now keep them at 1700-1800fps max. The gallery loads shoot fine for short range (100 yard) plinking and are slower, but won't cycle the SKS obviously and I get a little bit of scorching on the necks of the brass.

With a lever gun you can keep the velocity down without worrying about cycling, so they should do fine at 1500fps. Just experiment with your loads using a powder that's good for reduced loads. Xtreme doesn't publish load data but they recommend using Speer manual data.

When I bumped it up to 35g they acted a little funny. Not sure if jackets were separating or what...
