    50gr VMAX range results

Took my Mossberg MVP in .223 out today to try out my 50gr VMAX Loaded with my $30.00 LEE Classic Loader reloads at 100 YDS. Picture is of 6 shot group at 100yrds with scope set at 10X. Used sand bags as a front rest. Load data is as follows.

    50gr VMAX
    Trim Length 1.75
Remington Brass necksized with LEE Classic Loader
    CCI Primers
    25gr H335 Powder
    COL 2.26

I shot at Lincoln Rifle Range and unfortunately had to deal with a pretty potent crosswind (15MPH +)so I would think on a calm day I could have got better results. I only loaded 10 reloads and the other 4 shots where equal equivalent group size of the 6 shot group. I did shoot 10 factory 55gr FMJ Remington and grouped those at about 1.5 inches with the cross wind so I can only assume that the Reloads are more accurate since conditions where the same and the reloads grouped much smaller. I can't wait to try them out on a calm day.

The last picture is from 2 weeks ago shooting my best grouping with factory 55gr FMJ Remington at 100 yrds on a very mild day with a light crosswind.

That's one of my favorite varmint bullets. Super accurate and they always result in chunky, red rain.

Try and find some 60's those were some of the best shooting bullets... The 50's gave me about a .130 bigger group...

      They still shot a .545

      They are a great bullet

        Good deal.

My rifle (Kimber of OR) likes 50gr TNT's. Might give 'em a try too.

Looks like you have a good load! I use that same load in one of my guns, a real squirrel killer.image.jpg

I really like the rifle. The stock is very comfortable.

Sorry to break it to you but to be honest the rifle can shoot better than that.

Replace the scope and rings to fit you and shrink your groups even more.

My MVP varmint can shoot groups like that with a mixed bag of ammo 55 grainers. Really. Its so boring but builds confidence for my kids. I havent tried any other weights.

And if you think you have bang for the buck in the 223, the 308 MVP will astound you

You broke nothing to me, so sleep tight and thank god you weren't lying.
                I like the scope.

That looks good! Anyone try 25gr 748 behind 50gr VMAX out of AR? I hear that is an excellent load out to 200. Have a few loaded up for the weekend to try out.
