not thru an AR, but I've thrown a few down my 700, don't do it. It's not enough weight to keep any real power much beyond 150 yards. Shot decent groups, but I had much better external ballistics with 40gr v-max from Hornaday.

I am waiting on a barrel for a new upper I am building. It will have a 1 in 12 twist. Just for the 45-50 gn bullets. Hoping to get to the 4000 fps area. shooting will be 500 and less.

In an AR, they may become multiple projos by the time they leave the barrel.
Those light *** bullets are too frangible in fast twisters like the ARs.

Barnes recommends a 1:10 or faster for the 50gr VG's

I would not shoot the 50gr VG's out of a 1/7 AR, but a 1/9 would do just fine.
