ultrasonic cleaning solution

Is this stuff bad for long term storage brass? I rinse the cases after and then tumble in corn cobb media, but someone on a thread earlier said it will corrode cases over time? Insight/experience?

I think most cleaning solutions will etch brass if not properly rinsed.
For case cleaning, I was not impressed with ultra sonic. Stainless steel pins in a rotary tumbler? Now that's the sh-t. Even after that and a thorough rinse and dry is still go 30 minutes in the fine grit corn cob and sweet jesus, that is some shiny brass right there. The polish helps fight off the tarnish too.
Me like shiny.

I use the ultrasonic with a little Limi-shine and Dawn (deprime first), rinse, heat them up for a few... They do discolor a little after heating.
But throw them in the corn cob with Nufinish, no tarnish ever.
Clean enough inside and out.
I'm sure the pins work great, I just don't see the need to change what's working right now.

I stainless tumble and dry and then do the same as above after sizing and trimming. Tumble in corn cob with NU finish to polish them up. They won't really tarnish at all.

Yea, you definitely need an ultrasonic cleaner (if you were referring to just the solution)

As for hornady.. i would pass. they are on the cheaper side when it comes to USGC's. (price and build). I would go with a Lyman minimum. The industrial ones like Kendal are the better ones. But I do clean my smaller parts and some casings in my Hornady cleaners. I own a few.

If you do get a Hornady, just try to clean about half of the amount of casings as advertised by the company. I found this to be more efficient.

Agree with the comment on the Hornady ultrasound. Run less than a half load with solution and distilled water, clean brass inside and out!
