    Cast bullet resizing 38sp, 9mm, 380acp

    I have load data for 115gn cast bullets for 38sp (358), 9mm, 380acp.
Am I correct in thinking I can take 115gn 38sp cast bullets and resize them to use in 9mm and 380acp? What are my concerns? Does the lead hardness of a concern in resizing? Is 357 the correct resizer die for 9mm and 380acp?

    Thanks!

The size depends on your particular firearm's chamber and barrel dimensions. If you size too small you'll get leading. I have one 9mm right now that needs .358"/.359" bullets because the throat is .360".

A 0.358" cast lead bullet works fine in ALL my 9x19 guns.
I only shoot as-cast (unsized) lead bullets when I cast my own.

A diameter of 0.355" is the nominal sizing for 9mm and .380 ACP. However, plenty of guns have slightly generous chambers, and as J-cat pointed out, you can get leading if your cast bullets are too small.

Regarding your cast bullets, you certainly can resize them, but I'd try out a few unsized ones first to see if they easily chamber as-is. You can do this by making up a few dummy rounds w/ no powder and no primer. The largest size that will still easily chamber is the size that you want.

Are you buying store-bought cast bullets, or are you casting your own?
