    7.62x54r neck sizing dies

Any sources other than Lee or RCBS? The Lee one uses a .308 expander which I've read is not appropriate for .310/.311 bullets, and its a full length sizer, not neck.

I have an RCBS set on order, but its been two months and no clue over there. Every time I call for an update, I'm on hold for 15 minutes while multiple useless reps take my info over and over, only to be told to leave a message.

Reminds me of a scene from Snatch: "It was two minutes five minutes ago!"

Who did you order the RCBS set from? I just picked one up from Midway for $34 and it was here in less than a week. Came with both 308 and 311 expanders.

Directly from RCBS. At the time I couldn't find anyone with them in stock... and their online ordering system doesn't tell you if its backordered.

If you’ve got the .303 British die set you can just swap out the expander ball and save some dough. That’ll work. You can also use the lee universal neck expander before you seat your bullets (boolits).

Lee sells a .311 expander ball for about $3...it's on their web site on the die set page...I have one and it works great...but a full length set..not a neck sizer.
God and the Constitution give me my rights and actions...any other input is just blabbering.

I haven't tried this yet, but supposedly you can use the .303 British neck sizing die on the 7.62x54 case. It won't resize the neck all the down because the cases are different, but it is supposed to do enough so you can seat the bullet without issue. I do have some 7.62x54 brass that I might try it on this weekend.

The old Lee Loader set neck sizes only, if you like whacking things with a hammer. I have read that it sizes to .310 which can lead to loose bullets if you use .311, but I have no experience with it so...

I haven't had any problems using the .308 expander with .311 bullets, so there's always the option of using a generic .308 neck sizer. If you're casting you'll want to use the fatter expander. You can try neck sizing with a FL die with careful adjustment of the die...

Just unscrew your full length die one turn and size 2/3 of the neck.
