Safely Load 80gr A-Max to Mag Length?

I was wondering if it is possible to safely load hornady A-Max 80gr bullets to mag length. I understand that this may be a silly question (based on my own research) but I was just curious if anyone had any other input. Thank you.

    For what rifle?
Is mag length longer than max cartridge length in your reloading manual?
Is your chamber cut so there is excessive free bore?

Standard 5.56 nato chamber with AR standard magazines. Per the reloading manual (and most other sources) it is not possible to load an 80gr bullet to mag length for a standard AR magazine. Not trying to re-invent the wheel or do dangerous experiments, just asking if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks for the reply.

It is possible, but you will need to find out what works for you.

Thanks for the cryptic reply. I'll just start doing random loads, fire them and see which one works for me.

My reply is for one reason...If I were to tell people what I load, they would say its not possible and safe at the same time. You will see
different replys. Its one of those things that you need to experience for youself...And now let the debate begin!

              Ok.

If it helps anyone give a better opinion, my powder options are the following (all are listed as OK for use with this bullet):

              IMR 4007 SSC
              IMR 4320
              IMR 4064

I have found 23gr of 4007SSC behind a 75gr Amax @ 2.27 OAL works pretty well. JUST clears a metal mag, but still too long for a Pmag. S&W MP-15 with a 1:8 twist.

I'm curious as to the application of this cartridge you are trying to cram this big bullet into to fit mag length..

I guess that's part of the question. Is there a practical application for such a round? If the tips were removed, would it make a good self defense round? I understand that's not what the round was designed for. The cartridge would be for close range 150-05 yards. Are there any other reasons to cram a big bullet in?

It is not practical to load an 80gr bullet for(mag length) such a short range. The Amax is a bullet designed for long range.Myself and a few other highpower shooters use at 600-1000yds.Try the Hornady 75gr bthp, this can be used mag length all day long with no worries.

For the love of Pete, I'll trade you some of my Nosler Custom Competition 77grain just to protect you from yourself. Those can be loaded mag length. The A-Max are too "pointy" and have too much of the projectile inside the case.
