shaker trays from midway work pretty well.

Otherwise the buckets around my chair method works fairly well.

I did see a mechanical sorter that used two rolling rods (sloping down gently from the feed input) which were angled a few degrees apart (starting super tight, and opening as the rods declined in elevation). The brass was fed in at the top and each case diameter dropped thru the gap at a different point. Multiple bins were stationed at the appropriate positions to catch each individual caliber. Some minor differences had to be hand sorted (like 9X19 vs 9X18)

Is that what you're looking for?
I have done so much with so little for so long that now I can do almost anything with nothing at all.

Still have to hand sort the 380 out of the 9mm of course but saves most of the time.

Yup, I almost wish people would stop shooting .380 for this reason...

I found the quickest is to drop all the 9mm cases in a plastic ammo tray that comes with retail ammo. The 9mm cases are exactly flush with the top of the tray (at least with all the trays I saved) .. the shorter 380 cases show up clearly.

I saw the youtube about the ammo trays; did it, and it worked! I had .380, .40, and 38 Super mixed in with the 9mm. Found all of it.

When I decap the 9mm on a single stage press, I can tell those little .380 buggers right away, I toss them.

I know I should save the little .380 moles...

I have a 380 sorter I got from Dillon. It is a metal flat tray which fits inside the other plastic sorter. It was a pain to get right so I am having sides rolled and welded to it.
Then all I have to do is put the 9mm into another shaker and the 380 will drop out. The 9mm MAK still has to be hand sorted. Lucky I do not run into much of it.

I am presently sorting three 55 Gallon barrels of mixed range brass. To remove all the metal cases I dump a bunch into an odd storage tub lid and run a magnet over them. Then I pull out all the rifle brass. Then use the Dillon shakers I have to sort the rest. It goes pretty fast that way. I do it outside in the shade on a picnic table.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
