.300 blackout jig

I had an inferior model jig, one of the originals and "okay" is a very liberal term for the current jig I have.

I just bought this one:
Improved Blackout jig

A lot of good enhancements designed around the cheapo harbor freight mini cut off saw.

-actually mounts to the saw unlike older ones that just tighten down in the vice
-hole for cut off necks to drop out
-longer trough
-adjustable depth gauge so the saw doesn't cut into the jig.

I'll post my reviews of it after I use it. anyone else have one like this?

Nope. But I made one with a plank of wood similar to what your describing. Works for what it is.

thats the one I am upgrading from, its not very good especially in the HF mini chop saw
the vice of the HF saw will cause this jig to not be level, and it not very sturdy.

THAT'S the German version; I'm surprised you don't have to use dry ice to shrink fit it in place! And then shim and rebalance before use! What's the black tongue depressor do?

These are getting really complicated, having a mill and some aluminum bar stock, I'm going to gnaw one out. The guy with the $12.95 one seems a good one, he's just added a right end support so you don't tip the jig; that's the only mod in the year since he started selling them. Guys on 300BLK forum seem to like them....

I use this style;

I love the Ball bearing detent(locks into the extractions lip of the case) and gives me very consistent cuts. I can run through 1k of brass in half an hour.

for the price I should have just gone with the ball detent jig. grrr.

Looks like a good jig. However I have patience and plenty of time and I just use the vice on the chop saw and loosen and tighten the vice every case. I did make a positive stop so the cases are all cut the same length. I've cut at least 2000 cases and usually cut 100-150 at a time.

I also have the jig with the hf saw. Works great. Probably consider selling mine with a extra chop saw if anyone is interested, pm me.
