I was wondering how much brass you can put in one of those Thumblers Model Bs with the 15lb drums? Stainless steel tumbling looks appealing but the specs only call for like 2lbs of brass, which doesn't seem like a lot. How much brass such as 223 or 308 are you guys putting in your stainless steel tumblers at a time? The thing that's making me hesitant is efficiency because the times I can tumble without disturbing neighbors in my apartment complex are relatively limited, so doing as much brass as possible in a limited amount of time is key.

I stick with the recommended 2lb's of brass +-225 pcs. As far as efficiency, you might be tumbling less brass at a time but in two hours your brass will look better than dry tumbled at 6 or 8 hours. I am currently tumbling some really nasty range brass, I took a peek after an hour and it was bright and shiny on the outside. I gave it 2 hours and it is as good as new. Completely clean inside, outside and primer pockets. I thoroughly rinse with clean water and put on a perforated pizza pan in the oven for 15 min @ 200 degrees. I won't tumble brass any other way!Last edited by cooper669; 05-21-2014, 10:45 PM. -
I figure between 10,000 - 20,000 depending on cartridge and how randy I'm feelingAttached FilesComment
