    Brass Trimmings

When you trim your brass, do you throw it out? Would you consider donating some for my wife? She creates glass beads and the brass trimmings are the perfect size and shape for her to use. The brass causes a reaction in the glass where air bubbles form around it and creates a neat effect. She needs more brass trimmings that I can provide. The only caveat is the brass trimmings need to be clean and free of other material - sweeping them off the floor won't work too well for her bead making. I'll pay for postage, just send me a PM.

Here is an example of what it looks like.

    Thanks guys!

Very pretty, buy why make her wait? If you really loved her, you would just sacrifice and entire case or two now and then.

Ol Shooter has a good point there I have some scrap brass that didn't make it past inspection. I should chew some of that down in the Giraud to make some more.

You ought to see how much brass a dillon trimmer will create when processing large quantities of 223 brass...
I have a 1 gallon mayonaise jar inline between the trimmer and the vacuum cleaner and there will be a few inches of brass trimmings in the bottom of a jar after a 5 gallon bucket of brass is done.

Every once in a while, I will have a guy over for work and his girlfriend comes along.
On a couple of occasions, I have caught the girl spying my swarf bin.
I can tell by how they are looking at all the curly Q's that they are arts/crafts people.
I usually just tell them that they can have as much of it as they want, but be careful because it's sharp.
They usually take about a cup or two worth of it.

I got a TON from my dillon trimmer, but it is in the bin along with whatever else I use the shop vac for.

My wife is very creative with stuff like this, her work is pretty amazing.

My case trimmers are the Lee case length gauges, so I can't bust through a lot of cases very quickly. I did about 300 .223 cases and she has already used most of it. I have some berdan primed cases I will try to trim to see how much I can get from them. I need a drill with a 1/2 chuck to put the cutter in to make go faster. LOL

If some of you are in the LA area and have a lot, I can figure a way to swing by any pick some up. I wonder if I can use a kitchen sifter to clean the brass shavings in a bucket of water.

Sounds like you might have a pretty strong case for getting a Giraud!

once I stop being lazy and trim all I need to trim man, i'll hook up with you, I just have to get some ambition to do it. Pretty much all my 6.5 swede and 7 mauser cases need trimming, and I have a s**tload of them. Only downside is I have a hand-turned trimmer, so I might have rheumatoid arthritis by the time I'm done. Might get a case prep center soon and use the adapter for the lee cutter/stud dealie so it'll speed things up.

Excellent, thanks. I use a cordless drill and the Lee case length gauges with the cutter attachment. It's not the fastest, but it beats having to do all that work by hand.

I was able to use the.30 carbine gauge and trimmed down a berdan primed .308 case fairly well until the battery died. I have it all charged up now and ready to go for tomorrow evening so I should be able to do a few more. I tried just the cutter without the case length gauge attached to it and I couldn't keep it evenly cutting without slipping off the case.
