Best color coordination with granite workbench?

I have been reading on this forum, and I have seen a lot of creative and brilliant ideas such as plastic reloading benches. Plus, a large debate of quality of reloading seems to focus on the color of the gear.

Basically, I am suffering from bench envy. So, I went out looking to make a nice reloading bench. I decided to go with a granite surface, and I hope those with granite benches can opine. I don't want to get cracks or breaks, so I know I'll need to be careful when I mount it.

I found a piece I liked, but ****, I am not sure how to color coordinate this thing. For now, I am leaning toward blue since my bullets are usually sent in blue boxes. But, I am open to suggestion on the color scheme.

Also, how does duracoating reloading gear work out for optimal color coordination? I don't want it to be too flashy or anything. Pastel colors would be my preference.

Granite is porous. If I wanted a bench that fancy, I would go with Quartz or a synthetic like Corian.

I fancy the Blue Pearl granite myself.


Can't believe I am going along with this insanity! It is gong to crack. Granite does not have torsional strength.

Have you considered quartz? Like granite, it has it's pros and cons. It is a bit heavier so that might be a benefit for your bench. Quartz is non-porous so you will never have to seal it. You won't have to worry about stains which is another plus.

I guess the other thing I am looking into is an efficient decor matching mount and television. I like kick back in the La-Z-Boy and watch television while reloading.

One thing I forgot to mention is the color of your press is going to depend on the size of your manhood. Based on this criteria I started out with a red press. Unfortunately after an unfortunate accident in FP's basement, I was forced to sell it and purchase a blue press

Go with whatever matches your eyes, that's what I did. Additionally, I got a color coordinated unitard reloading uniform to tie it all together.

That's what I did with the stone, but these presses come in really harsh colors. I am leaning against red; it's just too bright. Whatever I get, I think I'll be duracoating it. I was thinking of a pastel camo design...going for a tactical elegant theme.

Funny you mention that. I had a carpenter to give me some quotes on custom hardwood furniture for the bench...oh man, I am stuck on what type of wood to get. But, I am going to pay more to have a nice cat house (well more of a perch) attached to the top, so they have a place to sit.
