As far as the next quote I have never seen such a small charge listed anywhere. Link it up. SR 7625 cannot be loaded that light. That's the charge I use in the .32 SWL.

"IMR website shows 3.3 - 3.8 grains at 1.07" OAL."

Uh, the manufacturers website http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/pistol shows that data. Where do you get your data from??? The untested ironhorse edition? Are you going to tell me you have a pressure test device where you actually measured that 32S&WL load? Do you even have chrono data? I can tell you where it didn't come from, the manufacturers website because they DON"T list a load for 7625 for 32S&WL!

      I believe IMR's paper booklet shows 4.9grs @ 1.130"

I'm familiar with what a traditional Glock strike looks like. In regards to how I reload; I was using a Lee Pro 1000 progressive and completing each step on the press. I dry tumbled the brass using corn cob media, as I have done in the past. Nothing changed from past success. I have used this exact recipe in the past without any issues. I verify powder drop on every 10th round and when i'm done with a batch, I run each round through a L.E. Wilson case gage to verify proper size. I haven't tried the same batch of primers in any other load because I used them all with this batch. I'm sending the rounds off to Winchester tomorrow. For the time being, I am using CCI primers. I will say this, I was not happy with the press and have replaced it with a Hornady LNL AP

Really, I did not want to start a pissing contest and thank you for posting the data.

I have access to a lot of old data sources and use them.

The only way small charges of SR 7625 will work is by the very short bullet seating shown in that particular data. I still would not use that data as my testing shows light charges produce very light recoil.

I have found the powder to be very finicky and loading light amounts to be problematic.

My Beretta 92 failed to eject at 4.5 grains a sure sign of low pressure and velocity.

Sierra 2nd edition lists from 4.2-5.2 grains at 1200fps.
          Ken Waters Pet loads 115 jhp 5.2 = 1,109fps.
          124 fmj 5.0 = 1,101fps

What is interesting is my Hodgdon website printout lists 4.5-4.9 loads with 115 GR GDHP bullets and 4.1 - 4.6 loads with 125 GR Sierra FMJ.

Yes I have a chronograph but have not tested SR 7625.

You can find .32 swl data for SR 7625 in Ken Waters Pet loads.
I run 3.2 grains with a 90 grain Hornady swc.
So not quite the load listed but a good safe load.

As far as the OP I would be carefully depriming some of those and checking the pellet and anvil for signs of failure.

I apologize if I have offended anyone by asking for data sources.

I just wanted to see it for myself.

Thank you everyone this is a good thread.

I am no expert, not by a long shot. I just started reloading in January. Having said that disclaimer, let me share what happened to me.

I use a Dillon progressive for my handgun ammo, but only load .38 special at this time. I also use a RCBS single stage for my rifle ammo and have been very successful loading rifle ammo. I have loaded lots of rifle, and shot it and am very happy with the results.

On the .38's I had trouble with the revolver hitting the primer but not firing the round. The revolver shot factory ammo just fine, but my reloads would not work. I took the gun to my smith and he said there was a problem with the gun. So he changed the springs for the trigger and hammer and now it shots the reloads just fine. He said it was doing what he called "light strikes" on the round. I also use CCI primers and somebody told me to try different primers as some are harder than others, but it is working just fine now.

Try the reloads in somebody else gun and see if they give you the same problem.

              Hodgdon data 8-29-13

I've been working with SR 7625 since August of last year.

This was the data provided on the Hodgdon website at that time.

              irh

Data from the 1983 Dupont Handloader's guide. I find this to be very good data as far as velocity in a four inch barrel.

I was getting light strikes in 5" 1911 9mm. Had to change to a heavier hammer springs. My loads were light loads for idpa. Might be a firing pin spring issue.

Have you tried them in a different firearm? This could be a weapon issue or a load issue, and without seeing if they will fire in something else, you won't know what it is.

Could be you need a new spring for your striker. Could be a bad lot of primers. Could be a worn firing pin. Could be extra dirty primer pockets. Could be a lot of things.
