    Skewered Primer

So I am new to reloading and had my first stuck case. Finally got the case unstuck and found this primer on the decapping pin. Looks like a cool pic so I thought I would share.

How did you manage to get the primer on the inside of the case?

Open container of shells sitting under or near bottom of press while de-capping other shells. Rogue primer spits into container while de-capping a different batch and works itself into a loose shell. Later, shell is re-sized/de-capped with the loose primer INSIDE shell... boom, pierced primer and more than likely reason for stuck shell and bent pin... almost looks like a piece of that primer could have been forced into the flash hole which would have wedged the case good and tight.

(I actually had a loose primer spill out of a 5.56 shell this weekend while swagging, and thought... how in the F did that happen?)

I'm goings with Jon's scenario. I was depriving with my old mans old rock chucket and primers we dropping all over the place. I would not be surprised if one dropped into the box of cases I was working on. Lesson learned, will move the box further away and find a better way to control the primers dropping out of the rock chucker.
