    Arrrg swaging

Just got done resizing and now the dreaded swaging. On a positive note, I just had my lead levels checked and they are normal

Dillon Super Swage... best thing ever! I used the RCBS swager for 3000 rounds of .223 and its horrible... just spend the hundred bucks and get the Dillon. You won't regret it.

The Dillon Super Swage Sucks balls

      Compared to a Dillon 1050!

I have both. I only have the 1050 setup for 9mm. I never even notice a crimped 9mm pocket anymore. I used to get hung up on the 550 all the time when doing 9mm. Unfortunately, I have to use the Super Swage for my 223 brass. It isn't hard or bad, but it is really boring. It does a great job, I just put it off as long as possible.

Ya. I got the rcbs as an Xmas gift. Can't bring myself to buy a tool that may save a little bit of time. Wish I knew someone with the tool so I can compare. It's not as bad as trimming. Will wait to trim all that brass when I get my giraud.

I started with the RCBS. It was ok for 50 or so. Then I bought 1k batches, and it took forever. I spotted a super swager for $80 locally, and posted this

So I bought it thinking if it sucked,mi could always get the 80 back.

I could not be happier. I finished about 600 cases in about an hour fifteen, and I wasn't going fast.

Last night, I swapped the setup to do some 3006 just to see how difficult it was to change. Took 2 minutes tops. I then sized and swaged 60 rounds in about 20 minutes.

Love the super swage. Every piece I scrounge or buy is crimped.

          Love it.

Looking forward to that & trimming for my new AR

I plan on getting the Dillon super swage or RCBS' new one & then most likely a drill powered trimmer for .223.

I looked at that, two schools of thought, one is the string on the handle and the rubber band on the other end to lower and raise the shell automatically, the other flips the shell off into a box, seems like a gimmick and a lot of tweaking to get that to work.

I just use it as it comes, and once you get a groove going, you can really smoke large numbers of cases. So far I've probably done 600 556 and maybe 100 30 06.
