    redding die question

I see redding makes seperate sets of .40sw and 10mm.
    they have a .40 set, a 10mm set, then a .40/10mm set

Whats up with that. Do the single caliber sets still work with either round?

You should be able to size a 40 in a 10 but, wether a the 10 would adjust for flaring & bullet seating I don't know.

we could speculate wildly, which is always fun.

      OR

you could just call them and ask.

They usually come with a spacer ... My 38/357 rcbs set came with about a 1/8" spacer
        .223 & .308 brass processing

So, if you only have one of the calibers, you wouldn't need the spacer or the capability to load the other. If you buy the 10mm specific die, you might not be able to roll crimp with the seating die, so you'd have to use a factory crimp die.

Also, as anyone who's ever used the 38/357 dies will tell you: The spacer gets you in the same "ballpark" but you will still need to adjust some. It's not as simple as throwing on the spacer, and loading the other caliber.

            Dillon.

The wild speculation is way more interesting. Funny almost.
