Western Cartridge Corporation '68 (WCC). I'm sure they are fine if they were dry and cool. These may be into the cartridge collectors realm, so you might not want to shoot them until you check with the collectors. If you are worried, send them to me, or I will pick them up and try them out and take the risk for you. Have fun.

I got some a while back from J&G, vintage 1971 ,1989, and 1991. shoots fine and was only $8.50 a box.

The Western Cartridge Company is a manufacturer of small arms and ammunitions founded in 1898 by Franklin W. Olin. Western Cartridge Co. (WCC) later acquired Winchester Repeating Arms Company after Winchester went into receivership in 1931.

Western made a notable contribution to World War II by producing 15 billion rounds of ammunition and developing the U.S. carbine and M1 rifle. Cartridges made by Western are stamped WCC.

Western is also the manufacturer of the bullets used in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

It is under the Olin Corporation and is based in East Alton, Illinois, USA.

        Shoot it up!

That's some nice vintage fodder there. I'll bet that brass is sweet when
        reloaded.

My dad has some of that stuff sitting in his safe too! I remember shooting it when I was a kid and in the right light you can see the bullet travel to the target it was so damn slow! The stuff my dad has is probably as old as the stuff you got. It's good plinking ammo, shoot it, just don't expect much.

You can see the sun reflecting off a lot of copper plated/jacketed rounds flying through the air. It depends on your angle to the shooter as well as the sun. I see it all the time standing off side to a shooter in bright sunlight. All bullets move SLOW relative to the speed of light. I'm sure there was nothing wrong with any of the bullets fired and seen streaking to the target.

Yeah, I just thought it was cool when I was a kid! We spot our .50s out in the desert all the time. But those .38s are slow!
