First 308 loads - VERY pleased!

Test fired my first work up on 308 today. Shooting them through my Ruger American Rifle at 100 yards. At 36.2 gr / 2.800 OAL, with IMR 8208 XBR I got a nice tight little 5 round clover leaf All the holes were touching! Unfortunately, somehow I must have left my target papers at the range in my excitement so no pictures. Gonna head back up tomorrow and see if I can find it lol.

Just wanted to hoot and holler and say thanks to everyone here for the absolute wealth of info on this site! Plus a shout out to BigBronco and the guys for the awesome reloading clinic!

    Thanks again!

Outstanding. Thanks for the shout out. Feels good to read the success stories from our students.

              I'll give those a whirl.

I use a lot of 8208XBR, one of my favorite powders. I use 43.0 grains in my bolt guns with the 168's. It's very accurate.

Glad to hear it! My first .308 loads were for my brother's FAL. 44gr gr BL-C(2) with a 150gr SP work as good as any factory stuff we've shot through it. Love when something works out like it should.
