    Lee Pro Auto Disk movement

I'm running a Lee Classic turret press with a Pro Auto Disk. The issue that i'm having is the movement of the disk. The disk doesn't move all the way to the edge as it should, resulting in the holes not being properly aligned. I have taken everything apart multiple times to figure out the problem, but haven't had any luck. I'm hoping someone has some ideas of what the issue could be.

Is this the first time you've used it, or is this a new problem?

I run 3 other calibers on the same press. i have everything set up on separate turrets so it's easy to change calibers. This is the first time I've run this particular set as I am just starting to reload 45acp. I only have this issue on two of the set ups. I use the exact same components on all set ups.

Interesting. By auto disk, I assume we're talking about the standard disks which come with the press, not the mod where you can just turn the screw to change the powder charge?

If so... my suggestion would be that A) you aren't getting that little moving tab into contact with the groove on the disk or B) you need to check the tension on your chain? I assume you've already done that, right?

Does it do it even when you aren't actually pushing powder?

Yes, it's the standard disk version. On the turret set up you don't run the chain. Instead it relies on the spring to return to normal. The tab is in the correct position. I haven't dropped powder yet as I was just checking automation. As of right now, it only exposes about 3/4 of the opening for the powder to drop through.

Is your expanding or charging die set too high?

That was my thought but when I lowered it, resulting in increased flare, the movement results were the same.

Did you forget one of the internal floating tubes in the die?

No sir, both are there. There is movement, it just stops short about 5mm. That's enough to only exposed 3/4 of the hole.

Is the powder hopper on backwards?

Sorted it out. It seems that there was a burr left on the inside of the die that did not allow the sleeve to drop down low enough. Took a dremel to it and it all functions as it should.
Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it!

Awesome. No way I would have thought of that. Good on you!
