    First Time Reloading

Last night I reloaded .308 rounds for the first time. I wanted to get into reloading mainly for cost saving reasons but I was so blown away at how spot on and so much more accurate each shot was...

I would usually shoot groups that would span 3 inches @ 100 YARDS

With the reloaded ammo I was able to hit 3 1" targets back to back @ 100 YARDS

I'm I new shooter so I don't know if that impressive or not but I was pretty stoked!

Good job. You put those three on top of one another and you have a pretty good group. Don't change anything.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

That's the best reason to start reloading.

Great shooting! Next put all 3 on the same dot.

That's some good shooting. Your reloading was officially successful!

I figure unless you are shooting premium match ammo (assuming you could afford it), your groups should shrink to about 60% of what you shoot with factory ammo, at least. You'll get it dialed in even better over the next few months.

You are hooked now! There is no going back to store-bought!

Congrats, nice shooting. What type of rig are you using?

Looking good! Like you i'm new to reloading. I love the satisfaction of making accurate ammo instead of buying factory made stuff.

What rifle, bullet, powder combination are you using?

Good going! I'm glad you appreciate reloading for the accuracy aspect. Many tend to overlook this as a reason for reloading. You'll never save money reloading!

Looking good... feels good doesn't it?

When I was buying factory ammo there was a point in time when I thought I just didn't have the skill to shoot a solid group like others were posting on the forums; everything was 1.5" to 2.5" depending on the ammo.

After my FIRST ladder loading match ammo and shooting a 1/2" group I was hooked... I realized it was the ammo that was holding me back.

Even if reloading didn't save me a penny I would still do it. It’s a great hobby and because of it I’ve learned more about guns, ammo, and ballistics than I would have without it.

One question.... How big was the grin on your face?

                        Congrats.

I've only been reloading .308 for a few months and it is FUN.

I second the question, what are you shooting the handloads out of?

Great! Now shoot at the same target to get your group size. What's your load date for these rounds?
