Brand new to reloading...

I just inherited a bunch of equipment and want to try my hand at reloading. I'm posting here since most of you have the experience necessary to offer some advice and guidance.

As you can see from the picture, I've got a lot of equipment but most is pretty old. I have an old Texan Model "T" (which I discovered hasn't been made since the 70's) with dies for .223 rem. 45ACP, .357, .30, 30.06 and 25.06 (never heard of that one). An Oshaus scale, Hornady powder drop, Star automatic lubricator, some old and unknown powder dispenser, RCBS case trimmer and thanks to another member here, digital caliper and brass tumbler. I don't know what the orange machine is or what it is does.

I've been reading the ABC's of Reloading and reading all the posts here that pertain to reloading. Any advice on other books, videos, etc. for the beginning reloader? Also, any thoughts on additional equipment I may need? Thanks in advance.

WOW that looks like a good start. I like the Lyman manual. That said you can never have too many reloading books. They all seem to have different focus... and they don't all agree. Start slow, the idea in my opinion, is not to make cheap ammo. But to make good ammo. What cartidges do you want to reload?

I'm just getting setup myself and found the getting started section very informative for a newbie.

Yeah, the Lyman manual is the most complete, IMO. If you can, take an NRA Metallic Reloading class. It'll get you father in 2 days than any manual.

Where in SoCal are you?? What calibers are you interested in starting in?? If rifle calibers I'de sugest a headspace gauge for each caliber to help you set the sizer die up correctly. For pistol calibers you look set.

That Star Lubrisizer is the best out there and Magna Caster is now making them and sell parts for them.

See below. I want to reload .223 Rem. for rilfle loads. As for pistol, .45ACP, .38 spl and 9mm.
