.454 casull and .450 Bushmaster dies

I have my eye on a large caliber revolver for a hunting back-up and possibly a primary weapon for some of the little piggys we have around here.

I am reloading the .450 Bushmaster currently, thanks to all the great info on this site, and was wondering if the dies for that will also work with the .454 casull since I would be dealing with the same diameter bullet?

    Short answer is no.
Get yourself a Lee carbide die set for 454Casull/45LC for $23 at Midway.

      Now give the long answer...

If the case diameters agree, the sizing die could probably be used.
The issue is usually one of seating die length.
It's quite possible to shorten the bottom of the seating die to allow a shorter case to fit up into it.
The shortened seating die works fine for the longer cartridge as well, just don't adjust it down as close to the shellplate.

So the issue is because the (.450) brass is 1.700 and the (.454) is 1.373
The .450 seating die does not have enough length to seat the bullet into the shorter .454 casing.

        I think I got it.

I did not check on outside diameters.
If they are the same, then the sizer will work.

The length is the only issue I could think of.
