Walmart getting close to range prices.

I know this topic is getting beat to death but with the 5 bucks I spend on gas to get down to the Milpitas store from Berkley I might as well just start buying ammo at the range.

In my area range ammo is usually overpriced reloads though. If it is similar priced factory I'd say suppost your range though. I wonder if the manager at that WalMart you go to is a Pacific Islander?

it's inflation; the dollar is worth poo.

I notice I can find the Remington UMC .223 all the time now. It used to sell out immediately in most SCAL stores.

                Exactly.
If the price of ammo bothers you, do something about it.
                Start reloading.
The second option is to just shoot less.

Most people choose the second option.
The committed folks take the first option.

Reloading component costs have gone up considerably too.
It now costs me $78 to load 1000 9mm's.
I used to be able to do it for $40.

A group of friends down here saw the writing on the wall over a year ago and we all stocked up on our most common cal's. Now I'm sitting pretty and just pick out the best deals when and where I want. Between Natchez, Sportsmansguide, WM and various other catalogs, I keep a steady stream of replenishment to my already wholeseme stock.

                    Option 3: Shoot more .22

I just built my first AR22 and bought a ruger 22/45. Its pretty much all I shoot now.

The price of raw materials is up all across the board.
Im a drummer and the price of cymbals is going up just like ammo. about 2 years ago I was spending $125-$150 on a cymbal. Now its $200-$225.

...how much and how often do you shoot when you shoot? Your stash WILL run out. If you load your own, the supply is endless.

                        I own somewhere around 15-20 22 rimfires.
I have always shot them a lot.

Here is the latest build that I am using for 22 rimfire sniper matches...

Is Milpitas the nearest (to Berkeley) Walmart with a decent selection of cartridges?
