There are a lot of people that like that press but I have not heard many people that like the Lee scale. A digital is fine I guess (I don't own one) but many also back up their digital with a balance type of scale. In the class you will probably be using one of the hand priming tools by Lee, Lyman or RCBS and many people like to prime off of the press until they step up to a progressive. I read that Big Bronco is bringing the OC club equipment to the SD class so you will see a couple different types of scales.
The Lee book has a ton of loads but some are not optimal, they work but might not be the best. Other books that are manufacture specific (like Hornady, Speer etc.) or the Lyman 49th have fewer but potentially more accurate loads.
You should not buy till you take the class, you might like priming with a hand primer and using a powder thrower off of the press like you will be using in the class. After you soak up all the info you get and get your hand on a few things you may want to piece a few things together and not get a kit.Wanted: Spent Berdan primed Yugo 7.62x39 & 7.5x55 GP11 Swiss brass -
