    9mm Pricing

    Hey guys...

I'm pretty new to this forum and a new gun owner (...still 4 days left until I can pick up my first gun) and when shooting, I've always just used other people's ammo and then paid them whatever they thought was fair. Now that I have my own gun I am buying my own ammo obviously.. My question is, is $15-17 per 50 rounds of 9mm reasonable given this market? I want to stock up so I'm trying to decide what to do. I placed an order with Cabela's for 250 rounds, (bought Remingtons UMC, Herters, and Federal) ended up being about $60 and I got free shipping.... I have no idea if that's a good deal or not.

If you reload, you can get it down to $6-7 per box of 50.

Get whatever you can right now, as there isn't much in the way of being picky, currently...

$4.75 if you bought frangables on sale, or 6.57 ($6.569) were my last 124gr plated reloads (w/current "retail" primer prices, not in bulk).

I average $5 a box for my reloads, I could bring it down more if I cast my bullets instead of using Xtreme

25-30 cents per round seems to be the going internet price currently.

Most of the ranges I go to (that sell ammo) sell it for around $19-20 per 50. If you keep an eye out on line, you can get it for less. You just gotta be fast.

Not that long ago, we could get it for $11-12 bucks a box. Politicians and their personal agendas suck!

$15-17 is about standard these days. Your Cabela pricing is good at $12 per 50. Find someone you can reload with and your costs will drop to $10-13 per 100.
