Congrats. One suggestion is that you should get yourself a case gauge as well. It will tell you if your formed brass is in spec and whether you are trimming to the right length. It's a handy tool and you can get them for under $30.

Also, if you need brass - I get it from Brassbombers. You can choose all LC or not. Swaged for you to save you yet another step. You will need to form and trim.

I have gathered 235 lc brass to reload for my Israeli mauser. 308 lc is supposed to be thicker brass

Well thanks again for the help here. I bought some case gauges for 308 and 223 and found the reason for my bolt action having a tough time with some of the rounds to get the bolt to lock. I found I did not properly size brass down which was making the bolt tougher to close. Now that's all sorted out i'm feeling better.

Reloads will be tight if you're only neck sizing. Makes for a snug load but helps with the accuracy.

It was a full length resizer. And now I have a stuck LC case i was processing for the first time in my sizer. A trip to Lowes tomorrow for some supplies should sort it out.

Probably. The cases were still pretty tough with plenty of hornady unique lube. LC brass is supposedly thick and sometimes tough to resize.

Not sure if it would help in this situation but I found that Dillon case lube does a great job over the other types I tried including RCBS.

Well stuck case is out... drill, tap, and bolt did the trick.

I'm still having problems with the die sticking on the initial part of the downstroke. Maybe more lube on the neck is the key.

Don't laugh but PAM cooking spray works fantastic for resizing. We were spraying the crap out of LC brass with one shot and discovered that PAM cooking spray works fantastic. The cases resized really easy. So does a mixture of lanoline oil and 90 percent alcohol.

I learned the hard way not to use spray on lube. I only use the RCBS case lube now, rolled on a pad. I ruined two dies with stuck cases from spray lube. Almost ruined a third but got that one out, fortunately.

Hmm I have PAM. Might try it out tomorrow. I still have 900 rounds to size, although i think i'm only going to process a total of 300 now.

I tried the One Shot spray lube and it worked with LC 223 brass. For the 308 that got stuck I was using the Hornady Unique wax.
