    Brass identification question

    Greetings!

I am having some problems identifying a few brass cases.

    1. In the "Brass in Question" pic, there are several cases I can't identify.

    ---Far left 3 cases have L C 6 9 circling the primer
    ---Upper Middle 2 cases have K A 7 4 circling the primer
    ---Bottom middle 2 cases have H X P 74 and the other has H X P 76
---Right 4 cases have 30 M1 FC 09 around the primer

They all appear to be exactly the same size as a 30-06 casing. Are they in fact 30-06 cases?

    2. Does the NATO cross on .223/5.56 casings always indicate that the case is 5.56?

---I have an MRE box full of cases with + WCC 13 around the primer. Are they 5.56?
---How do I determine which calibre the case is if the NATO cross isn't the be-all-end-all?

Thaks in advance for any help!

Google the head stamp if not sure next time, but yes, those are all surplus .30-06 casings. As to the 5.56 question, the NATO circle cross head stamp, it usually indicates a casing made to NATO specs and loaded to 5.56 pressures but never take it at face value.

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.
