American Quality Ammunition: Any Good?

CheaperThanDirt has a special on some ammo from a company called American Quality Ammunition. I did some research on the brand name and found old threads on some other forums (circa 2007) saying the ammo was crap. But the reviews on CTD are more recent, and make it sound like decent stuff.

So I was wondering if anyone has experience with this ammo, and if so, good or bad? I'm a new gun owner and looking for some cheap range ammo to get started. For the price, this looked like a really good deal... $165 shipped for 500 rounds of .40 S&W.

CTD was one of the biggest price gougers when ammo was tight. Many have boycotted them because of that. I'm one who won't do any business with them.

Thanks all, I appreciate the ammo links. I just ordered some Remington rounds I found through gun-deals.com. Good price and it was 165 grain, which I was more interested in shooting with than the 180. I appreciate the help, you guys rock.
