    One or two Dillon presses?

I have been reloading pistol for the last 10 years on a Dillon XL650 and I was recently given a 550B by a friend who quit shooting. I want to start loading rifle rounds (.223) for my AR. My dilemma is.....do I keep both presses and load pistol on one and rifle on the other, or do I sell the 550 and load everything on the 650?

I have three, keep both . Set up one for rifle the other pistol or set one with small primer the other large primer.

I have a 650 too and although I can change the primer set up in less than a minute, I would keep both if you've got the space. I don't want to crowd my already tight work area but would love the idea of a second press.
I'd probably sell the 550 and get another 650 so I could swap out tool heads, have a rifle prep set up and such.

Separate presses are easier to run. Why stop at 2?

Glad to see I am not the only one with a messy bench.

I'd actually like to have a 550, caliber conversions are way cheaper and easier to find used. I love my 650 but conversions and tool heads get expensive.

I use both of them. I use the 550 as a single stage.

Keep them both. You'll always have a use unless you have to buy new tool heads for the 550.

Yes. Both is good. .223 on the 550 is good because you do so much prep off the press, really you only need two stages to do .223 on a progressive unless you have a 1050.

Easier to swap primer buckets on the 550 than to swap the bar. I just pull the bucket spring and pin, swap it over and replace the feed tube. MUCH easier than pulling the bar.
