Scratched brass

Well.... Ok I had a case get stuck I the sizing die. It was he'll getting it out, but at no time did anything other than the case go in the die. Btw it is a carbide .223 die.

So I set up the tool head to process some brass. I run a few pieces through just to check that everything is alright since I did not run any brass after the removed the one that was stuck. He scratches are very light, fine but visible, going around the circumference of the case.

What are my options? I looked inside and it looks smooth as glass. Do I need to buy another one?

It's probably fine. Did you use a stuck case remover to get it out?

Let me guess...Did you use Hornady One Shot case lube?

Who makes the dies? Pictures would be nice...

If the ring is much lower, what you are seeing may be normal.

Are you lubing the cases?

I seriously doubt you need to buy new stuff, just clean it well and keep loading.

It is a Dillon die and dillon lube. I checked brass from before it happened and they are clear with no marks.

And I removed it from the bottom of the die. I cut the end off, and rolled the case out. It was a b****. I had just run like 900 through for processing. The very last one I thought I had sprayed it, but wrong.... The only marks on the die are the very bottom that does not touch any part of the brass.

I have since been taught e proper way to remove stuck brass.
