    lyman hand priming tool

I have a question. I am using the Lee priming tool, but am getting frustrated with the primers rolling over and going in sideways. I am looking at the Lyman EZEE hand priming tool. Any advice or other recommendations? The only thin IO see with the Lyman, is that the case is pointing right at you as you are priming. I would think that would be dangerous. Any other brands I should look at?

RCBS... I love this thing. I've only run about 700 rounds across it but I haven't had any problems at all.

I also use the rcbs version. Works great.

I like the Lyman the best of the ones made. Not hard to cant it a bit so that is is not pointing at your face.

Do you look down the hole to see how your primer is sitting ? I've used the RCBS primer & didn't like it,& I love RCBS equipment.

Just received my Lyman priming tool EZ prime and I could not be more disappointed. If you are trying to get away from sideways primers this unit won't do it for you. The primer tray has a flaw that when the primers gets to the chute the first one to get there turns sideways. The distance from the tray to the top is wrong and it allows primers to flip over in the tray. I am sticking with my RCBS.

If you're using harder primers, like Tula, you're going to have more cases of flipped primers. I have the rcbs tool. Flips them a ton with Tula. CCI, it's less frequent. The plastic mouth where you insert the trayon the rcbs isn't tight enough, and the top lid does not stay fully flush, allowing more flips. If you have crimped cases and did not fully swage or ream them out, all hell will break loose. The jaring motion causes a bunch to flip.

What you'll have to do is slow down and look down the tool everytime to make sure it's not flipped.

Or be like me and get fed up and move to press priming feeder system.

There is a similar one if you have a rcbs rockchucker press.

Lee also. Quit texting while priming.

I have used Lee, Lyman and RCBS. the best by far is RCBS, I have primed 10's of thousands with the one I have.
