need help mounting my press

I just built my workbench and I am having trouble deciding the best way to mount it. I made a standard 2x4 bench with Simpson ties from Home Depot. The press I have is really small (LEE "C" Frame). The mounting holes are really close to the lip of the press.

Since its mounting holes are so close to the edge, I have to drill through a 2x4 and 3/4" plywood. I'm thinking of making a wood mount to raise the press off the bench. I would like to have it sit maybe 6" away from the edge since I don't have an overhang anyways.

Any suggestions? I was looking at how the budgetarmory and juijitsu did theirs on youtube.

My bench is built the same way. My buddy made this stand for me. Allows me to mount it anywhere on the bench.

I wonder if I can do something like that with wood. I don't have access to metal or welding tools. I am worried about flex which would negate the fact of building a solid workbench.

Send a PM to BigBronco, they made some wooden raised platforms for the presses to be used in the reloading club. He should have some pics of them and maybe the instructions to build one.

You can also use a bolt in the holes that dont go through a 2x4 and screws with washers in the holes that do go over the 2x4. That's what I did with my partner press, havent had any issues.

I like having a press higher off the bench for swaging, full length resizing, decapping as it gives me the option of standing and having a different type of leverage on the ram handle.

Picked this gem up from someone who got rid of their LCT. Perfect/custom fit, great size as it allows me to offset the press in a bit and minimal flex. Looks nice too!

I simply used a vise to mount ultimately four SDB's. I used metal, but you could easily make on from wood.

There is a site that sales a riser called the ultamount. The site is inlinefabrication.com and the have mount for the Lee (and others) ranging from 4" to 9". I have the 6" for my Lee Breech Lock Classic Cast and it's great. Enough rise to get it off the bench and it was easy to assemble.

If raising it up that high, it needs to be metal with a gusset stabilizing it. There will just be too much flex.
