I was pretty happy with X-treme 147gr RN bullets and Unique for IDPA. Very soft shooting.

I use Extreme 124 gr plated, they shoot well, and have a bit more knock down than 115's(for me anyway)...

There are a few companies that make LSWC. I like them because they leave a nice hole in the paper and are pretty cheap. What I don't like about them is that the Lead can be messing in your bullet seating die. Because of that I went to Xtreme plated LSWC but they don't make those for 9mm.

Thanks for the info so far. I guess I should clarify a little more. I want to stay with plated and avoid lead. The group buy is for Xtremes. I guess I could of just stated "should I use 124 or 147 for comps?

This is by far the best bullet I have found for 9mm. http://www.snscasting.com/9mm-147-gr-fp-9mm_147fp_500/

4.5 grains of Power Pistol works wonders in all my 9mm firearms. Very soft shooting and very accurate.

I use Precision Delta 124gr JHP and been very happy with them.
I know lots of folk like Montana Gold (I've never been able to get any ;-)
The PD cost the same as plated I think.

Most people at our USPSA matches shoot either Bear Creek or Montana Gold in 125 or 147gr. Open guys usually shoot the Montana Golds.

                      +1 and always available

880 FPS feels nice and meets minor power factor

                        You could try these.
They ship fast and I never found a blemish on any of the ones I bought. Can't beat 77.00 shipped per K.

For 9mm i cant think of any reason not to use plated, especially when they are $65 per k. If i did ever feel the need to use jacketed bullets i would buy precision delta all the way

So can someone put it in plain English for me. How do I get the lowest recoiling load possible, light charge heavy bullet? Or light charge, light bullet?
