7.62x39 Frangible (Compressed Copper) update post #11

I was feeling the temptation to buy one of these range packs but I bought a couple bags of these compressed copper frangibles instead.
Ill admit to leaping without looking so if anyone has any info on these pills it would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I understand what frangible rounds are, I bought these with hunting in mind(im hoping they are lead free)

I wouldn't use it for hunting when it hits bones it break like when they hit walls in shoot houses

Bummer...I was under the impression that frangible rounds act like normal when they hit flesh&bone

Nope, they give off all energy upon impact and turn to dust. I use them in my HD rifles so they don't over penetrate.

Hmm....I guess I could keep the SKS loading with these instead of SP's.

I dont know, I bought them sight unseen. Its just the bullets not complete round.

Kinda difficult but you could stand there and hold it up as I shoot it.
I loaded those things up for a variety of firearms and never had a problem with feeding or accuracy at 600 yards. One tip though, the .308 in a Mosin will keyhole at about 40 yards.

Do these bullets have a similar profile to the frangibles youve used before? The profile makes me think they are gonna fly like cans of soup.


They seem very similar to these flat point remanufactured rounds(middle round) that were giving me fits at 100yds. The soft points(one right of center) were much better at 100yds & on steel at 300yd and the FMJ's(far right) were on steel, with the aid of a spotter, at 400yds. Funny thing is all three types of rounds came in the same order, in the same boxes, listed as the same thing.


I wonder if the frangible bullets would survive being reprofiled in a lathe?

Well let us know how they shoot I was pretty tempted to buy a few hundred of those when i saw them.
