Powder sticks to everything!

I'm reloading 9mm with win 231 and I have the hardest time pouring powder into the cases without it sticking to everything. I assume this is a static buildup. Not a lot of powder is going into these loads so the amount that sticks to my lee powder funnel makes it unusable. I bypass the funnel and pour it directly into my expander/powder through die which is better but I can still see a lot of powder stuck inside.

Will a dryer sheet help with this in the funnel and the die or does anybody have any other solutions? I use a single stage rcbs, weight out every load and don't mind hand pouring into the case or die but without some kind of funnel its just too time consuming.

Dryer sheets are your friend.

They work extremely well. I wipe down my machines with them especially powder drop tubes.

I even cut a strip of the sheet and hang it in my powder measure. Just put a rubber band around the tube, capturing the dryer sheet, so it doesn't fall to the bottom and plug the measure.

If I'm charging off-press, I just put the case on my digital scale, tare it, charge the case, and then measure the charged case on the digital scale. No funnel or transferring of powder needed.

Static... and start with the dryer sheets.

Pouring charges by funnel for 9mm is going to get old, real fast, so just charge directly into the case using a powder thrower or charge on press.

Once you get the powder measure seasoned it should throw very consistently with none to minimal sticking problems.

Don't clean the graphite residue off your measure and other items.

I'm using a Lee perfect powder measure and a Lyman digital scale. I charge directly into the scale then tap tap tap until all flakes are loose, then pour into the powder through/expander. I'm not comfortable enough with that powder measure yet too not weight out all the charges. I suppose I could separate all my brass by brand and measure after they are charged to ensure consistent weight but that's not better than pouring each charge.

Make sure there isn't any oil/grease on the powder funnel. When I first got my Lee double disk kit, the funnel part was coated with oil.

If it is static, like stated above. Dryer sheets work great. When I'm not using it, I leave a dryer sheet inside it then wipe it down before use.

If the powder is sticking to the scale pan, try using a metal pan instead. Use one like the beam scales use, such as the O'Haus or RCBS 10-10 scales. The static doesn't affect the metal pan anywhere near as much as a plastic one. That coupled with the dryer sheets should pretty much do it....or do what reckoner sez.

Is the powder through expander coated with oil on the inside? All of mine were and I cleaned them with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. I only clean the area where powder passes through and no more clumps/random powder loads.

+1 for used dryer sheets. Wipe down the inside of your powder measure with one before you pour any powder into it and the powder won't cling to the sides or together. I wipe down all of the plastic parts with a used dryer sheet before I begin a reloading session.

Used dryer sheets on everything, ran a bunch of powder through my measure, thoroughly cleaned my funnel and the interior area that powder contacts in the die and I'm good to go. I suppose I jumped the gun asking here before trying anything like this myself but I always appreciate everybody's helpful advice. Thank you once again for solving a simple but very annoying problem.

New ones leave a white clumpy powder substance on everything.
