I sold 10 pounds of various powders in last couple days. wc844/tac/231 It was easy to get last year just watch deals and reloading components for sale.Unless you are geographically undesirable like up in the pot areas of northern cal.

4064 seems to be pretty easy to get right now for he most part.

Just keep an eye out for it. Varget and R15 seem to be the only 2 main ghosts as far as rifle powders.

It's available, just how much are you willing to spend? That is the unfortunate situation we are in. Go to popular auction sites.

The options are to pay the going rate for powder you want, or change the load to a powder you can get for the price point you have in mind. All calibers have lots of different powder specs, maybe that's where you should be focusing. I use Varget for most of my rifle loads, and Titegroup for most handgun loads. They are both easy to get in my area.

The other day I sat down determined to get powder. With a powder search engines up, I had to only wait maybe an hour before my powder came up (varget). I then scrambled to toss in some primers... adjusted how many i wanted to order a few times. (3? no 4! and went back down to 3). I looked really quick for another powder I wanted for 7.62x39, but gave up quickly as I did not want to have the powder sold out from under me.

It was really anti climatic as it did not take as much time as I thought.

OOS at 10am. Is the $28.50 "handling charge" in addition to the hazmat?

Personally, I would only look at LGS and FTF sales. All the mail-order vendors have limits on what you can buy, so putting enough powder and primers together to lessen the bite of the hazmat and shipping is not gonna happen. You're better off paying an extra $10 a pound to keep you going for a month or so. It's the guys with a powder stash that rivals the Naval Weapons Depot, and are still buying more; I wish they'd knock it off.

LOL! Try getting HP38, W231 or ANY pistol powders. Rifle powders are actually out there. Not pistol powders!

They're limiting to only 2lbs. At that rate you would end up spending over $100 alone in hazmat fee just to get enough powder to last because you would have to order from more than one place.

                          Amen to that.

Better yet... get on Youtube and check out the 22LR stockpile guys.
There's a few on there with 35,000 - 100,000 or more rounds, and they're still buying.

Then they say that they're gonna be prepared. pfft.. yeah, for the zombie squirrel apocalypse. WTF they gonna do with that much 22lr? I don't think they even contemplate the numbers involved... unless you're shooting all day, every day, non stop, you'll never go through 100k rounds of ammo.

And stocking that much 22LR is pointless. I mean, sure, the 22 has it's place, but usually right up there just slightly past the high power pellet rifles.

Putting your money in a good powder and reloading a decent bullet is much more realistic.

I've found all my recent powder through the ammo search engines, and through local stores. There's still a lot of stuff out there.. just no RL-15

                            Shipping was $20.15 + $28.50(haz) for 8 pounds

They can trade their .22 as opposed to shooting it all in a SHTF situation.

I've seen RL-15 in my search more than 700x or varget
