    COAL Question

So I'm loading 380 ACP, my handbook says max COAL is .984in and min COAL at max charge is .970. I have my Die set to .975 but I've notice a deviation of .005. If I rerun it through the seating and FCD it'll come out to .975 if it's on high side which is most common. My question being is how much does that variation affect the consistency of my rounds (lots of time wasted rerunning rounds if I don't need to) and what is an acceptable amount of deviation?

That amount of deviation won't matter at all. A very wise man once said, "All my OAL problems went away when I stopped measuring my rounds."

As long as your rounds function in your gun you won't notice the difference.

COAL variations is a secondary contributor to the accuracy or consistency of your rounds. Bullet weight, Powder charge and primer used are way more important.

You shouldn't have any problems ,watch your powder throw with that small case. Don't mix the brass.

Haha that's awesome. Yea I just quick measure now. As long as its about a .01 OAL window its good enough for me. I got over measuring exact 2.800 +/- .002. Took me 10 min each round.

From your lips to gods ear. Your friend was indeed a wise man. Within reason I want them to fit in the magazine. Every dang bullet you buy will be different OAL. When you start talking .oo1 or anything starts three digits you will go nuts.
