    What happened to Reloder 15?

I've been patient, waiting.. looking almost daily.. and I simply can't find anywhere, except for Gunbroker or some place over priced, for Reloder 15 powder.

It's the best stuff I've found to reload my 308 match loads. I have a little bit now, but been cherishing it because I don't know if I'll find more.

As a matter of fact, all the Reloder series powders seem to be missing in action. I looked on Alliant's website, and various places, but have yet to find even a single pound of it come up on any site.

I have found other popular powders trickling through the market, and I've been able to stay on top of it and get some of them as they become available. Sometimes, they're only open for sale for about 15- 30 minutes.. other times, they're sold out in 5 minutes or less... but this Reloder 15 seems to be completely evasive like they stopped making it, or it's completely sold out nationwide or sold to major ammo manufacturers .
Anyone find any of it? I'm stumped.

    Everyone wants it.

That, Varget and some pistol powders are almost non existent right now. Everyone wants it. I'm glad I have a little Varget left over and am a H335/4895 shooter.

I haven't seen a pound of it physically in almost 2 yrs.

Is alliant under contract with some ammo manufacturer?

Thank you! I did do a search, but searched for "Reloder 15, and Reloader 15" both correct and mispelled versions.. never checked RL-15.

Anyone have any very accurate substitutes which can be used for long range that they have actual trigger experience with? A lot of powders work through my rifle, but point of impact has changed radically using some stuff... like BLC2, or H335 ... I haven't tried Varget in my gun yet... as that stuff is just as rare. Might as well be using ground up Fabrege eggs for powder substitute.

I was looking at using 3031, or 4064.. hell, I'd even use 4895 if I can get some actual data.
I'm pulling 1/4 MOA with RL15 now in my gas gun, and simply scared to start changing my handloads.. but necessity leads me to start looking for a long term substitute for my old reliable friend.

Some cartridge manufacturer must be using that stuff in HUGE quantities, or Alliant stopped making it.
I can't change the title of this to Reloder 15 substitutes. oh well.....

Even Norma 203B is out of stock.. been looking for that powder for quite some time, as it appears to be just an exact re-packaged substitute for RL15.

Depends what you are looking for but the following are consistent and similar in burn rate.

IMR or H 4895 (H is short grain IMR is not)
IMR or H 4064 (Don't have any H but the IMR is long grain)
IMR 4320 (IMR is short grain)
            IMR 8208 (very short grain)

I've use RL15 and 8208 in my .223 and have H4895, IMR 4064, and 4320 on the shelf for extended .223 testing and .30-06 reloading. I have not used 8208 in .30-06 yet but I hear it works well. They should all work well for .308
