    Tumbling question

Still learning here, and getting ready to clean my first batch of brass, I have a tumbler and walnut medium. I see people saying to put a few capfuls of carwax in there, I see a lot of people saying to use nu-finish but I'm just wondering if I can use any I may have out in the garage or if I should go get that one.

The important thing seems to be avoiding the use of any product which contains ammonia.

I just use corn cob media and cut up dryer sheets. That's ok right?
The cases come out very clean, just maybe not bright and shiny

I've used Nufinish with great results, but I've never tried Meguiars. If you try it, please post your results, I'm curious about it. Make sure you load and fire the ammo first, I want to know if it affects powder or primers

Everyone recommended NU-Finish when I first got into reloading so that's what I got. Works pretty good with 2 capfuls every 3-4 batches.

Think I'm going to stick with Nu-finish just because its been tried with results before.

I used Meguiars car polish, smelled great and the brass looks even better!

Same here, but with walnut. The dryer sheets cut down the amount of dust, when you open the lid & pour out the brass.
After resizing & depriming, I put the cases back in the tumbler and let it run overnight. After 10 ~ 12 hours, there pretty clean (most primer pockets too), and shiny.

Corn cob and new finish here. No dust and comes out really nice depending on how long I run it. I'm going to build myself a real tumbler though and use stainless pins in water and lemi-shine. I just did my first batch of .223 and didn't like how the cob got stuck in the cases so much, they come out really nice and clean and the primer pockets and inside of the cases gets clean. It seems the cleanup would be much easier too.

I suggest adding some mineral spirits to the corn cob, nu-finish, and used dryer sheets. It seems to thin down the polish a bit and you get a shinier finish.

I have been using Flitz for what seems like forever, small bottles are readily available at the hardware store and larger bottles online

Thats what I do, way better polish than walnut. If you have access to a compressor and a air pistol attachment, this will hange things for immensely. My buddy gave me a compressor setup a couple years ago and it has hanged my life, muuuuch cleaner brass.
