Wudda spose caused this ? These cases have been loaded together as a lot for a long time but , there's 8 cases that as oxidized together ?

Its caused by the brass being exposed to air and moisture. The Statue of Liberty is made of copper and has turned green, it is the copper oxidizing.

I agree that it has to be moisture that somehow caused it. The weird thing is why only those cases, and not the ones closer to the edge of the box? Maybe some liquid got spilled in the box but only in those slots where the affected shells are.Comment

I'm taking apart a bunch of 19 year old .44 mag reloads I got in a deal and some of the interiors look like that when others right next don't. I've fired the primers and they still go bang on even the most corroded.

It's moisture, called Verdigris by the artsy-fartsy crowd. The copper in the brass is oxidizing. Copper with 30% Zinc is a common alloy for cartridge brass.
