    Dillon rapid case trimmer 1200B???

Does anyone use a Dillon rapid case trimmer 1200B for trimming .223 or .308? Im looking to purchase one in the near future. Can anyone tell me if this would be a good buy?. I would like to hear your experience with this case trimmer good or bad, please. Thank you for your time in advance.

Wow that's cool. Yes that says it all! Thank you. I will be purchasing a 1050 this year for .308. I currently own a XL650.

There is no bad side to the Dillon trimmer. Although the new 1500 should be out soon.

I just bought the "Worlds Finest Trimmer 2" in 300BLK and .223

Has anyone mounted this to anything other than a drill press / drill? I saw this picture and like the idea... but don't know what motor, RPM, etc would be ideal for trimming brass. Looks like this one runs a 1780 rpm 3/4 hp motor. I don't have access to good machinery so I would need off the shelf items.

If i were you id stick to the 650... Do you use your press everyday? Literally 7 days a week for 4-5 hours at a time?

If not then you dont need a 1050... You dont want the headache of a commercial
            Press...

I think it might just be designed for blackout... Also it will probably be 350$ at least i would think...

The wft does nothing compared what you can do with the 1200b..

And yes i have tried the wft. I own one in 300 black out.. It headspaces off the shoulder. So ALL of your brass has to be fired from your chamber before you can trim it... The 1200 can trim brass from your chamber my chamber his chamber and still be within .001... With the wft i was seeing .035 difference with mixed brass...

Resizing prior to trimming doesn't make for a uniform shoulder from case to case?

No I don't use it every day. I just read and hear a lot of good things about the 1050. But I love my XL650 and would never sell it. Thanks for the advice.

I didn't know Dillon was coming out with a 1500. I will look into it. Thanks for the heads up. Just googled 1500 case trimmer, not to much info on it. Not sure if it can only be used for 300blkout.

The video makes it sound like Dillon is a making a toolhead for 300BLK.

                        Should only be $30 more.

But of course things can always change.

The Dillon trimmer is a great machine. Just don't run it for hours on end, it will get too hot. They will eat brushes if used roughly. I trim for 30-45 minutes and then let it cool. Mine is one of the first ones Mike D made and is still going strong. The 1050 does not have the no BS guarantee. It is a commercial machine and carries a 1 year warrantee. Unless you are shooting thousands a month in competition, the 650 is better. Complete caliber changes are pricey. Good luck on your purchases!! Rod
