I use those same bullets and they jam upon feeding in my AK. I tried them in my SKS and they all fed fine without any issues. I've got about 400 left to load for my SKS although I don't shoot it very much at all. Does anyone know if these bullets will work in a 300 blackout load? I'm just getting into loading those up and want to use these for something other than my rarely used SKS.

      Jarhead,

Started at 18.0 gr settled on 21.5 IMR 4227. Out of Chinese SKS. No feeding or ejection issues . Work up, as all rifles are different. Hope this helps.

Was that with the Sie. 150 HPBT in .308? If so, that's a big help!

I'll try some Lapua .311 123gr soon. I ran some PPU flat nose from a wasr and a had a failure to fit once in a while. I'm still learning this new reloading hobby.

Sounds good but, as I read this on Xtreme I don't think I would buy them for reloading for an SKS.

              Load Info:
              - Our Copper Plated Bullets can be run at mid-range jacketed velocities or higher end lead velocities. We do not recommend velocities over 1500 FPS (Feet Per Second) and only a light taper crimp.
Any velocities over 1200 FPS we recommend either our Heavy Plate Concave Base or Hollow Point products for superior accuracy. We do not recommend velocities over 1500 FPS (Feet Per Second) and only a light taper crimp.
              - All of our Hard Cast Lead Bullets are approximately 18 on Brinell, our Cowboy lead bullets are approximately 15 on Brinell.

what distances were you shooting and what kind of accuracy were you getting??

I have some flat point ammo that was giving me fits @100yds while the soft point ammo from the same manufacture was still good when I stretched out to 400yds. I dont know what bullets are in the ammo I have but many have commented that they look just like the Xtreme plated bullets and that makes me pause.

If anyone is looking, Cabela's has Z-MAX bullets for 7.62x39. $115 for 500 but I had some club points so I got them for less than $80 OTD

Edit: Or if you'd sell your soul to the devil for $10 you can get these

Back when I had an SKS and was loading for it, I used the Winchester jacketed 123gr bulk bullets with great results.

Yup, those are them. Prices have gone up - they used to be really cheap to buy.

I have a No.4 MkII Enfield that loves these bullets. Great bullet for the tight bore .303's.

I have shot these out to 100 yds. And can hit a 12" steel target 10 out of 10 times. I will try to stretch them out to 200 Yds. But I need to be careful not to run them to fast or the platting will start to peel.

Are any of you casting your own 762x39 bullets? I've had some paypal burning a whole in my pocket for a while now and after going back and forth on what kind of air rifle I wanted I went in a different direction. I picked up some SS pins, the Lee universal decapping die and two Lee bullet mold for 762.

With bullets being so hard to find Im hoping this will at least allow me to keep shooting. I was interested in copper plating cast bullets but its been pointed out to me that I may have better luck with powder coating so im looking into that.

Getting into casting! That's a step I'll be taking in the future when I can free up some garage space.

If you haven't already got it, the Lyman Cast Bullet manual is excellent reading.

I'm hoping that in the neAr future we can get the reloading clubs to do some casting clinics.

You might want to try some 150-170 grain 30-30 bullets that are typically .309" diameter for longer range shooting and better accuracy then .308" diameter bullets. Also set them way out to touch lands and single load only.
