My Dillon case gauge works fine but I always chamber check a round when adjusting the die. You could buy a JP case gauge since their chambers are wylde.

No need to do anything different. the biggest difference (there are a few minors) is the throat diameters between 556 and Wilde. It's design to shoot both ammo and squeeze out more accuracy potential.

sort by headstamp, size to .001" to .002" under the 'Go gauge'. you'll be getting as much out of the brass as you can (accuracy and longevity).

case gauge isn't needed at all. A comparator set is what you really need for exact measurements of your components.

Throat angle is different, I'm not sure where you'd measure throat diameter. Freebore length is different. Load for them the same, size for your wylde and you'll get the best accuracy out of the more accurate chamber.

          i looked it up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.223_Wylde

throat diameter is probably the most important difference of Wylde chamber. it's .224" the diameter of the bullet (.002" smaller than 556).

Headspace 'Go gauges' are virtually identical (less than .001") between 223 & 556. which was why i suggested sizing to just under a Go gauge. this way, his other 223/556 guns can also shoot the same ammo and minimum sizing of the brass.

the shoulder angles are the same. head to shoulder lengths are nearly the same... unless there is a way to size for the throat angle. How does one size for 'Wylde'?

Where do you see this? I've never seen a reamer print with Throat Diameter specified without distance to the measurement point referenced from either the shoulder or the base. The throat is an angle so the diameter must be at some point along that angle for the measurement to be worth anything. Indeed because the 556 has a higher lead angle than the wylde those measurements if taken from the same distance from the base will be different but that seems like an arbitrary way of talking about throat angle.

You shoot a round in your Wylde gun, size it with a full length die and knock the shoulder back .002". Then it will run in your 5.56 just fine and your Wylde perfectly without overworking the brass.

I meant 'free bore diameter' not 'throat diameter'.
