Can someone reload .30-06 for me?

I know this is odd (and hopefully not against forum rules), but I'm looking for someone to load up 50 rounds of .30-06 for me. Why?

I'm buying David Tubb's Final Finish, which are 10 grit-impregnated bullets in each of 5 stages, going from most gritty to least gritty. It gets great reviews, and I'm going to try it. The problem is, I don't reload, don't know anyone who does, and will probably *never* need reloads again! I have the fifty once-fired commercial brass (all Remington). The recipe calls for all fifty cartridges to be loaded using one step up from the standard minimum published load.

I live in the 951. Buy you beer? Give you massive amounts of cash in small non-sequential bills? Trade you my sister?

The problem here (besides no pics of your sis) is liability. I believe it is illegal for an unlicensed idividual to reload for you. You might want to find a licensed ammunition manufacturer and ask him. I'd try mrkabota first. If he doesn't want to do it, PM me and I'll connect you with one or two others that are out of state.

If someone is willing to lend their "Labor" it is not against the law.

1 - Bring all your supplies to the person with the press. Cases, Bullets, Primers, Powder. The minute the person with the press "SELLS" you something, they become a ammunition manufacturer and are subject to federal FFL06 and state laws.

2 - REMAIN with the person who does the reloading.

That's all. Since you're just paying for the persons "labor", the reloader is not selling you manufactured ammunition.

You can reload for someone for free, You cannot sell your self-reloaded ammunition.

What's wrong with your 30.06 that makes you want to shoot abrasives down the bore?

Someone can give you ammo but there can be no compensation even attempted for it to be legal.

I'm a licensed ammunition manufacturer. If you would like me to load the bullets for you I can do that. PM me or email me at adam AT freakshowguns.com

                    Hey Adam,

Can you post the related regulations that state this? I looked all over and could not find anything relating to labor, only to selling "Loaded Ammunition".

                    Thanks!

Wrong. If you pay for the person's labor, they are selling you manufactured ammunition. If they are not a properly licensed ammunition manufacturer (type 06 or 07 FFL) it is simply illegal. The ATF is very serious about this. Also don't forget there is Federal Excise Tax due on the ammunition. Oh, yeah, then there's the pesky State Department ITAR registration that will set you back $1,750 per year.

It doesn't matter if you are paying "labor only" or if you just pay for the components used. The fact that you are exchanging goods, services, or monies for the ammunition is a "sale" and it is of no consequence how the seller arrives at the selling price.

It's the ATF's position that either of these is an attempt to make profit/livelihood or distributing for a business and is illegal unless you are properly licensed as an ammunition manufacturer.

If you charge your buddy to load up 50rds of ammunition, even if he provides the components, you are in violation of the law unless you are properly licensed. There is no way around this.

FAQ topics relevant to ammunition manufacturing and licensing:
(A4) What kinds of ammunition are covered by the GCA? [Back]

Ammunition includes cartridge cases, primers, bullets or propellant powder designed for use in any firearm other than an antique firearm.

Items NOT covered include blank ammunition, tear gas ammunition, pellets and nonmetallic shotgun hulls without primers.

Generally, no records are required for ammunition transactions. However, information about the disposition of armor piercing ammunition is required to be entered into a record by importers, manufacturers, and collectors.

A license is not required for dealers in ammunition only.

                          [18 U.S.C. 921(a)(17) and 922(b)(5), 27 CFR 478.11 and 478.125]

(H4) Is a person who reloads ammunition required to be licensed as a manufacturer? [Back]

Yes, if the person engages in the business of selling or distributing reloads for the purpose of livelihood and profit. No, if the person reloads only for personal use.

                          [18 U.S.C. 922(a) (i) and 923(a), 27 CFR 478.41]

Well now that that part is settled, I will again state that there is a large amount of liability that goes along with reloading for others. Legal or not, I won't do it. I will however let you use my equipment and know how if you want to load the rounds yourself.

Thank you to all replies, and appreciate all still coming.

I would like to state for the record that I would never violate any local, state, or federal laws, and am not by this or any other posting soliciting for anyone else to do likewise.

The offers to give beer, large amounts of cash, and my sister's virginity for loaded ammunition was hyperbole and of course humor. To whomever in a position of legal authority may read this --

                              I WAS KIDDING.

I would, however, still like someone to tutor ME in loading MY OWN ammunition using MY OWN consumibles while I stand in the room the entire time doing all the labor, whilst we discuss the weather, with no reimbursement of any kind to the owner of said reloading equipment, in full compliance with both the letter and the spirit of all applicable laws.
