    Preferred powder for 223/5.56?

I will soon move my reloading into the .223/5.56 realm. This will be my first rifle reloads. I am just wondering what powders are the FAVORITES of the CalGuns reloaders. I will probably start out with 55 grain loads, though I like to shoot 62 right now. I have 4 manuals and can see the various powders. Any advice or just get whatever I can find on the shelves these days?

Also a fan of H335. Meters great and performs well.
People have told me it's temp sensitive, but I've never had any problems

I have only used BL(C) - 2 purely because my first pound of rifle powder was given to me... Out of a 16 inch rifle I get close to 3000fps with 28g under a 55g FMJBT

IIRC that's BL(C)-2 equivalent military surplus powder

Yes, the U S Military used WC844 for many years to load 5.56 ammo.

WC844 is the equivalent to H-335. WC846 is the equivalent to BLC-2. WC846 was used to load US Military 7.62 NATO ammunition.

OP, look in your reloading books and order the powders most of them list. It isn't that hard to do. After doing that, I ordered H335, H332, 748, BLC-2, and TAC. Already had the 4064 and 3031.

My favorite is IMR4895. It gets best accuracy from all bullets I tried but metering it uniformly is a *****. H335 seems to work very well and dead on consistent out of powder measures.

Seriously H380? What charge and projectile weight are you using?
