    lead free 45-70

    friend of mine has box of hornady leverevolution 250gr. 45-70 ammo. box is marked monoflex. product#82741. anyone know if this ammo is considered "lead free" for hunting in ca areas that allow only lead free bullets.

    Yes, Monoflex is leadfree. The standard FTX is not. The model you have, 82741 is leadfree Monoflex

      Lead free isn't enough - they also have to be on the CA "approved" list to be legal.

        Hornady 82741 us on the California approved leadfree list. It was approved by CA DFG on Dec 29, 2008. Log on to the DFG site and there are PDF files that you can download that have the approved leadfree ammo
