Looking to start a group but in Modesto

I am looking to do a group buy of primers or powders. Powder I am looking at is HP38 or Win 231. Primers I am not the particular on, since I need all kinds.

Problem with group buys on powders is availability. Manufacturers can't keep up with current demand and get full price when it is available. Why offer powder at a discount when its not going to sit on the shelves and they get full price (if not more).

I've looked into it a couple times and have never been able to get any traction.

The big road block to a group buy on powder is having the facilities to receive and store it. As the sales rep for the powder wholesalers told me " Others is no way I can deliver 300 lbs of powdec to a residential neighborhood." Setting up the proper facilities in a commercial building takes $$$ with permits, storage regulations and a sprinkler system. Not to mention liability insurance. I just don't see it happening soon.

But feel free to beat your head against a brick wall like I have over it.

I did a group buy in ~2007 I think. I was over 150 lbs. (two hazmats at that time)

edit to add it is scary to put out over $1,500 and hope everyone comes through.

My wife would be mad but I'd look at the bright side if half fail to pay me I'm set on powder for a good year or so. Lol
