    Anyone use this before?

I just got into reloading and quickly realized that case prep is tiresome and tedious. I was looking into getting a RCBS Trim mate or a lyman case prep to help speed up the process. But after poking around I found the Hornady case prep center that does everything I wanted, which included trimming.

The problem is the cost of the Hornady vs. a RCBS or Lyman is about 3 times as much. Then I stumbled across this little device on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEE-RCBS-HOR...item460f5c0b79

This looks like it will let me attach my Lee trimmer right up to my RCBS or Lyman case prep machine! How cool!

I have seen others do some mods to make it work the same but figured I would ask and see what you all think.

Thanks for the input, I'm new to this so be somewhat gentle.

For what it's worth I have done about 300 rounds of .308 so far, have a stack of .223 waiting to go. I will be adding .45 at some point to this list as well.

    Thanks,

    -Sko

Look up WFT....chuck it in a drill and you're ready to go....probably won't need much trimming for the 45 though

I have seen those but that is only a small part of the process. For almost the same price, which the WFT is $71 plus $30 for each caliber there after, I can have a automated setup for all staged of case prep.

But I am doing a sanity check here to see if I am off base on my assumptions.

It looks like a good idea, but I'd wait on feedback. The two concerns I'd have are if the machine has enough torque or the build quality to trim thousands of cases, and whether the plastic housing will stand up to the downward pressure for thousands of trims...it seems to me that the other functions require less pressure.

Are you referring to the Lyman machine or the RCBS machine? I believe the RCBS is a pretty stout beast.

I use a Lyman case prep center and for trimming a RCBS electric powderd trimmer.
The amount you have is minor to what I have put thru mine. I do not think you will be unhappy with them if you were to get what I use. I also use the Dillon Super Swager for crimped primer pockets usually and not the case prep center.
There is nothing that needs preped on the straight walled(45ACP) pistol brass. Clean and load.

Just prep you brass a bit at a time. It is easier on the fingers and less boring.

Thanks Diver, I just ordered a Lyman case prep off Ebay along with that trimming tool. For me the time regained is enough to warrant the cost.

I do plan on doing a lot more cases here in the near future, this is the amount I have gotten to so far.

              Thanks for the input.
