Are these good bullets for 30-06

Frozen, I try to pick the bullet for the use of each caliber. If it is a deer rifle, I want a good hunting bullet that will give excellent terminal ballistics. I need accuracy, but I want it to stay together and kill a deer at any range, any angle. I choose Nosler Partitions, I have used them exclusively for over 40 years with no complaints (other than price). If you are building target loads. Use accuracy as your only criteria. Sierra is a good choice. I don't shoot different bullets in the same rifle, different POI and trajectory. Pick what you want to do with the gun and build a load for it. Have fun.Comment

When I am target shooting I use cheaper bullets but with the rifle zeroed with my hunting load. I make the adjustment in my head if they shoot to different points of aim. I have had 2 loads shoot to the same spot also.
For hunting I use Nosler PAR/ Swift A-Frame or Scirocco/ Barnes TTSX or Hornady GMX. Since it is the bullet that actually determines the outcome of the hunt it seems less than smart to go cheap on the most important part of the hunt.
My 2 CentsA 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Gameking's are good bullets but it really depends on what the rifle likes to eat from what I have found.
Last summer I worked up a deer load for a friends rifle and tried everything under the sun. Matchkings were great but I only tried them out of frustration. Finally ended up landing on Nosler Ballistic Tips.
Also found my Savage 243 loves Nosler Ballistic Tips as well.
Spend some time with smaller boxes of various bullet types and weights and test them out.
All depends on what you want the end results to look like for hunting and punching paper.Comment

Sierra doesn't make anything that's inaccurate. Nosler's Accubond should be brilliant, their Custom Competition IS brilliant.
*Accuracy wize not hunting wize*weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?Comment

Thanks for the info guys. All makes good sense.
I have already purchased Nosler Partition but in 200 gr and I'm reading I probably want the 165gr Partition. I think I'll try these too just in case. Worst case, I get to shoot and load more

I've tried SGK bullets but I found they don't hold together and create explosive damage.
Now I use Noslers both Partition and BT's. Clean kill, no shrapnel
Don't use Match bullets for hunting. Gameking are for hunting.Sierra will tell you that. Its in the manual

The Matchking's are NOT hunting bullets. Don't use them for hunting unless you like pass-through's and lost game.
Before the Condor Zone lead ban I used the 165 GK bullets on pigs, out of my 30-06. I used it because it flew almost identically to the 168gr MK, which is what I have been using for Highpower competition for years and years. They were so close in characteristics that I did not have to change my zero - they were interchangeable in actual use.
All I had to do was switch bullets on the reloading bench, and I was good to go - same powder, charge, case, primer...... different bullet.
I don't think there is much difference in price between the two, so if you're working up accuracy loads from the bench, get the MK's. If you want an accurate hunting round, get the GK's. Just don't use them in the Condor Zone.Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!
