Corrosive 30-06 ammo

I have a question about some 30-06 ammo that I have. I am pulling down this ammo as I do not want to shoot corrosive ammo through my Rem 742. After I pull the ammo should I just reuse the powder and just use the same charge for the same bullet in the old case with a new primer or just toss the powder and just reuse the case and projectile?

You can reuse everything but the primer.

You could just shoot the ammo and then clean your rifle to get rid of the corrosive salts, not that hard to do.

yeah after trying to pull 2 of them the crimp is absurd. I think I will just figure out how the gas system works on it and clean it accordingly. I shoot corrosive ammo out of the old mosin and SKS so I know the drill. Just want to make sure I don't mess up the old rifle.

Try to seat them a little deeper and then pull them, if its surplus and has that dang tar sealant, that's one way to break them loose.

yeah I'd just shoot them and then reload, much less hassle.

Ok so some of them have a black looking tarnish on them. How would you suggest that I clean them off?

Yeah; major pain. You'd probably have to resize the case necks too (since they were crimped around the bullets once already).

Could always just sell them to someone that doesn't mind them as is.

I used this way for 40 of them.

Laquer thinner works well for the tar on the bullets. A wire brush on a drill work for the tar on the inside of the case necks.

I use a dremel with a wire wheel in it, be sure to wear safety glasses as stuff can go everywhere.
